第二十節 The Undiscovered Role of Braids(3 / 3)

As with many things in life the worst case scenario we imagine never happens。I remember that in a very difficult period in my life I worried about making the right decisions。All kinds of“what if?”questions were blocking any decision。But fear is a bad adviser。I looked for help and read Dale Carnegie's book Don't Worry,Live! There was one sentence that—for me—made the whole book worth reading:“What of all the worries you have had ever came true?”

Not a single one。None of the things I had worried about in previous years had come true。So I concluded that all I worried about today would most likely also never come true as well。So why worry?Calculate carefully and then make a decision。That's what I did and I have never regretted。That of course does not mean I did not make any mistakes along the way。Of course I did。But every time that happened I was aware that the only one who could get me out of a situation I got myself in was myself。Even if pulling hard on my braid hurts,it always works。
