10月5日，中~共中央政治局常委、國務院總理溫家寶在平壤同朝鮮勞動黨總書記、國防委員會委員長金正日會談，雙方就中朝關係和推進朝鮮半島無核化達成重要共識。金正日表示，實現半島無核化是金日成主席的遺訓，朝方致力於實現半島無核化的目標沒有改變。通過朝美雙邊會談，朝美之間的敵對關係必須轉變為和平關係。朝方願視朝美會談情況，進行包括六方會談在內的多邊會談。
