除了給幸福下定義之外，人們如何獲得幸福呢？毫無疑問，不同的人有不同的方式。下麵是我的方式：第一個秘訣是感恩。所有幸福的人都是心懷感恩的。不知感恩的人不可能幸福。我們傾向於認為不幸福導致人們抱怨，但事實確是抱怨才導致人們不幸福。第二個秘訣就是認識到幸福隻是其他東西的副產品。最明顯的來源就是那些給我們生活以目標的追求。這些追求可能是任何事情，從打網球到研究昆蟲。我們擁有的激情越多，我們可能體驗到的幸福就越多。
八、誠實
（一）重要品質
Integrity is the most significant characteristic that a person needs to besuccessful in life. Only by consistently proving to be honest can a person earnthe precious trust of family members and business partners. Trust is the basisof all successful relationships and integrity is the only quality that canprovide that foundation.
誠實是一個人在人生中獲得成功所需要的最重要的品質。隻有通過不斷地表明誠實，一個人才能贏得家庭成員和商業夥伴寶貴的信任。信任是所有成功關係的基石，而誠實則是能夠提供這一基石的唯一品質。
（二）家庭關係
What is a man to his wife and family that doesn't trust him? The relationshipbetween a husband and a wife must be based on integrity above all， as withoutthe trust based on unfailing honesty， a true partnership cannot exist. Aparent's relationship with his children must also be based on trust andintegrity. If a father promises many times to take his son to a football gamebut breaks his promise every time， his son will naturally begin to lose faith inhis father's words. In the long run， this type of behavior may cause the son todoubt everything his father says.
如果妻子和家人不信任一個男人，那對他們而言這個男人算什麼呢？如果沒有基於堅定不移的誠實之上的信任，一種真正的夥伴關係無法存在，因此夫妻之間的關係必須首先基於誠實。父母和孩子之間的關係也同樣必須基於信任和誠實。如果一位父親多次承諾帶兒子去看足球賽，但每次都食言，他的兒子自然開始不再相信父親的話。從長遠來看，這種行為可能導致兒子懷疑父親所說的一切。
（三）商業世界
In the business world， people without integrity sooner or later earn the badreputation they deserve. I know a person who will seize any opportunity thatcould be profitable， and will use any means to try to achieve his financialgoals. Unfortunately， because they have witnessed his business tactics， none ofhis so-called "friends" actually trust him and none would cooperate with him，even on the smallest project. I have observed how destructive this person'sdishonesty has been to his chances of success. His relationships with otherpeople are purely superficial， based only on self-interest.
在商業世界中，不誠實的人早晚會得到他們該得到的壞名聲。我認識一個會抓住一切可以掙錢的機會而且使用一切手段努力實現自己經濟目標的人。不幸的是，由於朋友們都目睹過他的商業伎倆，實際上沒有一個所謂的“朋友”信任他，也沒有一個人願意與他合作，哪怕是最小的項目。我曾目睹這個人的不誠實如何毀壞了他成功的機會，他與別人的關係純粹是膚淺的，隻是基於個人利益。
（四）誠實可貴
Sometimes lying may be much easier than telling the truth. Truth is a veryvaluable asset， which is easy to lose but hard to gain. In the long run， honestpeople may not be wealthy， but they will have earned the love and respect of thepeople closest to them， which， in my opinion， is the most important measure of asuccessful life.
有時說謊可能比說真話容易得多。真相是一種非常寶貴的財富，失去容易得到難。從長遠來看，誠實的人可能不富有，但他們最終會贏得最親近的人的愛和尊敬。在我看來，這是衡量成功人生的最重要的標尺。
九、變化
（一）變化與否
Although the majority of individuals spend their entire lives in the samecountry， people in increasing numbers today are choosing to live abroad， whethertemporarily or permanently. Everyone has their own opinion about the advantagesof "staying put" versus spending one's life in different parts of the world. Inmy experience， it is better to live in multiple locations than to stay in oneplace.
盡管大多數人終生都在一個國家生活，但現在越來越多的人選擇居住在國外，無論是暫時性的還是永久性的。每個人關於“一成不變”與在世界不同地方度過一生的好處都有自己的觀點。根據我的經驗，在不同的地方生活比待在一個地方更好。
（二）增進知識
Living in a variety of places can increase one's knowledge and experience. Bygetting to know people from different backgrounds， we can exchange ideas andlearn new perspectives. In contrast， those who keep their feet planted in oneplace will have a limited view and understanding of the outside world. Livingaway from home can also enable us to learn another language， offering a windowinto a diverse culture and way of life. For instance， during my time abroad inthe United States， I had the chance not only to learn the English language， butalso to become acquainted with the rich history， literature and culturaltraditions of America.
住在不同的地方能夠增加一個人的知識和經驗。通過認識不同背景的人，我們可以交流觀點並學到新的看法。相反，那些終生住在一個地方的人們對於外部世界會有有限的認識和理解。遠離家鄉還能使我們學習另一種語言，提供一個看待不同文化和生活方式的窗口。例如，我在美國期間就有機會不僅學習英語，而且可以熟悉美國豐富的曆史、文學和文化傳統。
