1. blaze down （on sb. or sth.） （來自太陽或強光的）照射
[for the sun or other hot light] to burn from above onto sb. or sth.
e.g. The stage lights blazed down on the set while the actors rehearsed.
2. blow hot and cold 猶豫不決，搖擺不定
to be changeable or uncertain （about sth.）
e.g. He keeps blowing hot and cold about moving to the country.
3. dog days 三伏天，酷暑期
the hottest days of summer， usually during July and August in the Northern Hemisphere（Named for Sirius， the “dog star.”）

Literal： to get warmer or hot
e.g. It really heats up in the afternoon around here.
Figurative： to grow more animated or combative
e.g. The debate began to heat up near the end.
