世博契機下土地功能的置換
隨著城市的發展，河流沿岸的工業逐漸衰退。中國2010年上海世博會的召開為上海新一輪的黃浦江兩岸開發、舊區改造和產業布局調整拉開了序幕。原本灰暗的城市核心濱水區迎來了新的生機和活力。世博公園原為浦東鋼鐵有限公司舊址，置換性質後的土地現已成為承載記憶、蘊含人文氣息、為城市環境及市民服務的永久性濱水公共綠地。
世博契機下景觀價值的提升
在功能置換的過程中，場地文脈需要延續、基地要素需要利用、綠色環境需要營造。
延續場地文脈。世博公園在設計構思的過程中抓住了“灘”的理念，將水體、道路、場所、設施、綠化等元素用灘的概念聯係在一起，形成有機的係統。同時我們將抬升的扇形基地比擬為折扇的扇麵，按風向走勢而特意設置的喬木引風林比擬為扇骨，將整個灘的景觀構成比擬為中國的水墨山水畫。上海本土特征和中國文化元素通過設計巧妙地融入到了場地中。
利用基地要素。廠房拆除後的建築垃圾堆砌成為公園綿延的地形；原有防汛牆改造成為親水的前沿駁岸；原貨運裝卸碼頭合理景觀化後成為觀景平台；塔吊的重組成為濱江服務設施……基地內的各種原有要素毫無違和地成為新的景觀元素，述說著自己的過去與未來。
營造綠色環境。以扇骨為創作原型的人工林地，結合灘形肌理的灌木地被，形成了生態的現代城市綠地景觀。埋入地形構造中的防汛牆，從自然有機形態中吸取設計靈感的生態建築，透水環保的鋪裝材料共同塑造了宜人的綠色環境。
世博契機下城市美好生活的開啟和永續
城市濱水區擁有良好的環境景觀資源，讓這一資源全民共享，即濱水用地公共化。讓濱水區對整個城市開放，使其成為城市公共空間的有機組成部分並融為一體。世博公園已成為“中心城區的綠地、世博的綠地、濱水的綠地”。她尊重場地的記憶，串聯起了空間的過去、現在和未來。她大大提升了河流的價值，提供了城市居民休閑和遊憩場所。她保護了河流的生態環境，讓城市環境得到可持續性發展。
The World Expo Park is the most important public green space in the area of 2010Shanghai World Expo，with a total area of 16.9hectares.She has become the green space of the city center，World Expo and Binshui District.
The design of World Expo Park grasps the concept of “bay”，integrating water with road，place，facilities and greening by “bay”，and all elements intersect with each other，forming a mingling and organic system.Meanwhile，this project assimilates the lifting fan—shaped base as the sector of the folding fan，the arbor grove，which was planted according to the wind trend，as the framework of fan，and the landscape of the whole bay as Chinese ink painting.The perfect combination of “bay”and “fan”forms a beautiful blueprint of the World Expo Park's future.
