注意 suspect that-clause 有正負兩麵用法,可解作“懷疑是……”,也可解作“感到是……”:

suspect 可作名詞,重音第一音節,解“嫌疑人物”:
The police found their suspect for the murder. 警方找到了謀殺案的疑犯。

句式 plunge into / to 解作“急墜、直落某地方 / 情況”。注意用 into 一般偏重“進入某地方”或“急速陷入某境界”的意味,而 to 則偏重“境況急轉”的意味,二者不能調換使用:
