na, he worked for a long time in botanic researd teag. His grandfather was Liu Tianxiang, a scholar in the Guangxu''''s reign of the Qing Dynasty. His father is Liu Zhuduo, and his mother is Wan Yuqing. Liu Dingyi was born in Kunming on June 25.
1948 His sed younger brother Liu Jianyi was born. Liu Jianyi is now professor at the Montana State Uy, U.S.
1950 His third younger brother Liu Bangyi was born. He is currently professor at College of Fis, Guizhou Minzu Uy.

1961 When he graduated from the junih school, he inteo study at the Art College of Guizhou. But unfortuhe college did not take any student in that year. He relutly went to the Guiyang Business College. But this
did not impair his passion for painting and learned western painting on his own.
