我第二次動身去英國的時候,在船上認識了阿蘇托什·喬德胡裏。他剛獲得加爾各答大學文學碩士學位,目前是去英國加入律師界。我們隻是從加爾各答到馬德拉斯的幾天內一起在船上,但十分清楚,友誼的深厚並不有賴於相識的久長。在這短短的幾天裏,他心地的純樸吸引了我,使以前我們從未相識的空隙似乎被我們的友誼永遠填補起來了。
