戰爭之後，四年已逝。Jonathan Frost不知所蹤已逾二十七年。早已離開Hogwarts的Snape已經飽嚐孤獨。但是從冰封的過去從北方追尋而來，並不予他安寧。承接Tread Softly。
作者按：這是Tread Softly的續篇，但是可以脫離Tread Softly單獨閱讀。前情提要一下（前篇劇透警告！），最後一戰的時候，Harry打敗了伏地魔，卻被丟回了Severus Snape和Marauders[劫盜者]所在的時代。他化名Jonathan Frost偽裝成一個學生。隨著他和Snape的關係愈發親密，Harry也得知了最後一戰中，自己的靈魂被迫與Voldermort的靈魂融合，既帶給他巨大的力量，也給他帶來了黑暗的影響。命運的安排讓他痛苦，雙重的人性所犯下的罪孽也折磨著他，終於Harry離開Hogwarts，尋找一片極寒麻木之地。
