Thenewwaveofdiscriminatorylawsandregulationsputgaypeopleinadifficultposition.Antigaygovernmentpoliciesforcedgaypeopletohidetheirhomosexualityinordertoprotecttheirlivelihoodsandsocialrespect,butthefactthattheyconcealedsomethingsoimportantaboutthemselvesmadethemseemsecretive,untrustworthy,anddangeroustooutsiders.
